Yes! We are back in-person at UCI's Aldrich Park for Challenge Day on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Go to “Register” to join as an in-person or virtual participant and help us fundraise for promising cancer research. Register as an individual or as part of a team.
Other ways you can get involved: 1. BECOME A VOLUNTEER and help us out on Challenge Day.
2. DONATE and one-hundred percent of participant funds raised are dedicated to cancer research.
3. SPREAD THE WORD by posting about the UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge and tagging us on social media.
You can cancel your participation in the Anti-Cancer Challenge. Donations are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Every registered participant has access to a personal fundraising page; we call this a Participant Center. The Participant Center allows you to manage your personal web page and fundraising activity. You can share your personal web page with friends and family by simply clicking on a link in an email, text, or Facebook post. This page is a way to share with others why you are participating in the UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge. It makes it easy for people to donate. Your Participant Center also includes email templates asking for donations and thanking donors. It also allows you to view donation progress and add a photo or video to your fundraising page.
You can be any age! Anyone under 12 years of age should be registered as a child. To earn a T-shirt, adult participants need to raise or donate $50 and children need to raise or donate $25.
You can cancel your participation in the UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge. If you plan to cancel your participation, write an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to notify the UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge office. Donations made in support of your ride are non-refundable.
A fundraising goal is the amount a participant hopes to raise. If the participant does not raise the amount, they are not charged for the outstanding amount. We encourage participants to set a high goal, as people are more likely to donate when they believe the participant has a difficult goal to reach.
You will be surprised how donations will start rolling in when you start asking. Some people raise $500 in one day just using their Facebook account. Here is how we support you in your fundraising journey:
- After registering for the challenge, every participant has access to a personal fundraising page; we call this the Participant Center. It’s loaded with tools and templates to make your fundraising easy. - Visit our Tools and Resources page for further fundraising tips and support. - We have a mobile app to help you fundraise on the go. This app comes with sample texts and email templates. It gives you the ability to accept donations from the palm of your hand. - You can also review our Donation FAQ section for more information.
Teams can have up to four team captains. Team captains promote their team, recruit participants and encourage teammates to be successful. Team captains communicate regularly with the team and plan fundraising or training events. We work with our team captains to make sure they are successful!

No, there is not a registration fee to volunteer.
Volunteers are encouraged, but not required, to fundraise. We encourage every volunteer to raise at least $50 (e.g. 5 friends donating $10). Volunteers have the ability to create a profile, and have access to the UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge fundraising tools. Volunteers have the ability to make a big impact, so get started fundraising today-you may be surprised how many people are excited to support life-saving cancer research.
We will have a variety of volunteer roles. We will be in contact after you register.
Participants can sign up as an individual, but we encourage teams. Here’s why:
Teams bring more people, money and awareness to the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Teams build camaraderie between groups of people who are passionate about finding a cure for cancer.
Teams put the fun in FUNdraising and have a great time training together.
Teams are comprised of two or more people. However, we encourage you to rally at least 10 team members for your team. Teams may include riders, runners/walkers or volunteers.
Anyone can start a team. And chances are you know at least one other person who cares about cancer who will join you. We encourage teams to try and recruit at least 10 participants. Don’t be shy; get your team started today. All you need is a great team name. Start your team registration by typing your new team name into the Search Teams section and click CREATE on the Register page.
By starting a team, you become a Team Captain. Once you complete registration, you can log in to your participant center to invite team members. Let team members know to select your team when they register as an individual rider, runner, volunteer or virtual participant.
Anyone can join your team- riders, runners, walkers, volunteers, virtual participants and kids can all join forces on one team. Teams can also include a mixture of family members, friends, coworkers and acquaintances. Let’s beat cancer together. Invite everyone you know to join your team!
