UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge

October 08, 2022

The UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge is a peer-to-peer community movement to raise funds and awareness for cancer research at the UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.

After two years of virtual events, the highly anticipated 6th annual UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge will be returning with an in-person festival on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022 at UCI's Aldrich Park. Leading up to Challenge Day, participants will have the opportunity to participate in the 2022 UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge through in-person and virtual experiences.

In-Person Participants – The 2022 UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge festival will include 14-, 35-, 60- and 100-mile bike routes and 5K and 10K run/walks. This family friendly event will include live entertainment, awards, and activities for the community to enjoy.

Virtual Participants – To build on the success of previous years’ virtual program and events, the 2022 UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge will continue to offer ways for people to virtually get involved. Kicking off in March 2022, participants can head out on their own, or with their team, to ride, run or walk as they track their physical activity leading up to Challenge Day. Educational webinars with renowned UCI Health faculty, in addition to other online and health and wellness resources will also be offered to support virtual participants through their fitness challenges.

No matter how individuals and teams choose to participate, 100 percent of the funds raised will support promising pilot studies and early-phase clinical trials at the UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.
